After 36 holes at the 2008 NCAA Central Regional, the Indiana men's golf team shares 10th place following a second-round 297 on Friday. Coupled with its 300 on Thursday, IU is tied with Kent State at 597 in the 27-team field at Ohio State's Scarlet Course (par 71; 7,455 yards).

Carr's Bullpen Brilliance Leads Hoosiers to Doubleheader Sweep

Matt Carr threw five shutout innings out of the bullpen in a 7-3 win in game two to finish off a doubleheader sweep of Michigan State for the Hoosiers on Friday. IU won game one 7-6 with Matt Bashore finishing off a complete game and Jerrud Sabourin driving in two runs in each contest.

Rowers Ready For South/Central Region Championships

The Indiana women's rowing team will travel to Oak Ridge, Tenn., for the Aramark South/Central Region Sprints on Melton Hill Lake. The Hoosiers will be joined by over 20 other schools at the event and will be looking to improve upon their 15th place finish at the regatta a season ago.

Chris Hervey had three hits and drove in four runs and Eric Arnett pitched eight strong innings as the Indiana baseball team scored a pivotal 9-2 victory over Michigan State on Thursday at Kobs Field. Andrew Means scored four runs for Indiana as the Hoosiers moved within a game of the Spartans in the race for the Big Ten Tournament.

Bugg Signs with Cincinnati Bengals

Phegley Named Bench Award Semifinalist

Sophomore catcher Josh Phegley has been named a Johnny Bench Award semifinalist, the Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission announced today. Phegley is one of 12 semifinalists for the award, presented annually to the top catcher in all of college baseball. He is the only Big Ten representative on the list.

Indiana head women's basketball coach Felisha Legette-Jack has announced the addition of Katie Abrahamson-Henderson as the associate head coach on the Hoosier staff on Wednesday, May 14. Abrahamson-Henderson's start date at IU is June 1. She joins the women's basketball staff after spending last season as an assistant coach at the University of Washington.

Escobedo Seeking a Spot in Olympic Games

Indiana's Angel Escobedo, a 2008 NCAA National Champion in the 125-lb. weight class, is one step closer to his life-long dream of representing the United States in the Olympics. Escobedo won his Olympic Regional Trial on May 10 in Waterloo, Iowa, earning a spot in the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in June.

Hoosiers Win Home Finale, 13-5

Chris Hervey and Brad Henke each had three hits as the Indiana baseball team collected a 13-5 win over Butler on Tuesday. Doug Fleenor picked up the win after throwing three strong innings of relief, allowing just one run. IU improved to 24-28 on the season with the victory, which was the last game of the season at home for the Hoosiers.

Middleton Earns Spot on Nagurski Watch List

Indiana defensive end Greg Middleton has been named to the Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List, the Football Writers Association of America announced on Monday afternoon. The trophy is awarded to the best defensive player in college football and is sponsored by the Charlotte Touchdown Club.

Over 700 people participated in the first annual Coach Hep Indiana Cancer Challenge cycle/run/walk event on Saturday. The annual event was held in honor of the late IU football coach Terry Hoeppner, who died last year after battling brain cancer.
