2008 Outdoor Season - Home Meet Information

Indiana University is proud to host two home meets in the 2008 outdoor track and field season. All meets will be held in the Robert C Haugh Track Complex and Billy Hayes Track, located off of Fee Lane in Bloomington.

The Hayes Track facility features a 9 lane, 400m Mondo track, dual runways for long and triple jumps, dual direction pole vault runways, with a hammer area located adjacent to the running oval. The steeplechase features an outside water jump.

General Meet Information

All meet entries will be done through Direct Athletics (www.directathletics.com). No entries will be taken over the phone. ***Absolutely NO CHANGES to entries will be made after entries close.

There are no declarations. Entries via Direct Athletics at the time entries close are declared athletes.

Meet Schedules

Tentative schedules for each meet are available on our website. Meet schedules may be adjusted after final entries. Please check back to this site after entries close.

Entry Fees

Entry fees will be $20 per individual or $300 per team (men and women separate) for teams with 15 or more athletes. Entry charges are for entered athletes (regardless if they compete or not).

All unattached / club athletes will be required to pay via credit card on-line when registering via Direct Athletics. No refunds will be given for no-shows. Collegiate teams may pay on event day at packet pick-up.

Equipment and Rules

Spike length will be checked by meet officials at check-in and must be ¼ inch or smaller

Shots and weight throw implements must be weighed in one hour prior to competition. Weigh ins will take place in front of the equipment shed.

Indiana will provide starting blocks (manufactured by Gill). Due to the size of our meets and time constraints, no personal blocks will be allowed.

A one minute time limit will be strictly enforced in all field events. All athletes must check in with the clerk at least 20min prior to event time, or they may be scratched.

Warm-ups

Running events - the primary warm-up area for running events will be the Armstrong Stadium facility, adjacent to Hayes Track. If races are not taking place, then the oval can be used.

Field events - warm-ups for field events can take place at the event site. If flights are necessary, the area will be closed for use by the first flight only for 10 minutes prior to the start. Each successive flight will be allowed a minimum of 10-15 minutes warm-up.

Seating, dressing, medical facilities

NO COACHES, MANAGERS, OR NON-COMPETING ATHLETES will be allowed inside the running oval (except for pole vault coaches in the coaching box).

Dressing facilities and showers are available at Galdstein Fieldhouse. Bring your own towels and locks.

Indiana University staff trainers and athletic training students will available.
