BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Josh Phegley's RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning to score Evan Crawford gave the Hoosiers a walk-off, 5-4 victory over Purdue in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader. Two batters earlier, Andrew Means delivered heroics of his own with a two-run homer to tie the ball game.
Matt Bashore picked up the win for the Hoosiers with a complete game. The sophomore struck out nine and allowed just eight hits in seven innings of work. He moved to 5-3 on the season.
