Gordon Named Indiana Gatorade Player of the Year

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana men's basketball signee Eric Gordon was named the winner of the Gatorade Indiana Player of the Year award for boys basketball, it was announced Wednesday.

Gordon, who recently competed in the McDonald's All-American Game, averaged 29.0 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists for North Central High School in Indianapolis. He led North Central to a Class 4A state runner-up finish.

The 6-4 guard is now eligible for the Gatorade national award that will be presented later this month. The Gatorade winners are selected not only for the outstanding athletic performance but also for academic achievement and good character on and off the court.
