BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana will host Georgia Tech in the ninth annual Big Ten/ACC Challenge, the conference office announced Tuesday afternoon. The game is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 27, and will tip off at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.
"It will be a great game," Indiana Head Coach Kelvin Sampson said. "Georgia Tech has a great tradition and will be one of the better teams in the ACC. It's a great opportunity for us."
For the third consecutive year, the event will feature 11 games (an increase from nine in the six previous years). The Hoosiers and Yellow Jackets have met only once before, with Georgia Tech claiming an 87-65 victory in Los Angeles on Dec. 29, 1969.
Indiana is 2-4 overall in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge and will host its third game at Assembly Hall in the Challenge.
Since 2000, the two conferences have combined to make 14 Final Four appearances and captured four of the last eight NCAA Championships. In addition, the ACC and Big Ten rank in the top two in all-time NCAA Tournament bids, victories and Final Four appearances.
