BLOOMINGTON, In - Indiana junior goalkeeper Chay Cain is the Big Ten Men's Soccer Co-Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Cain became the first goalkeeper this year to shut out No. 6 Northwestern in Evanston as the Hoosiers posted a 1-0 victory over the Wildcats on Sunday. Facing 12 shots from the Wildcats, Cain recorded four saves to improve to 7-4-1 in the net. It was also his fifth shutout of the season.

Earlier in the week against Louisville, Cain recorded one save and held the Cardinals scoreless before coming out of the game in the 26th minute due to injury. Cain has not allowed a goal over the last 225:22 minutes.

Cain shares the honor with goalkeeper Chris Austin of Michigan State.

The Hoosiers (8-4-1, 3-0 Big Ten) are back in action this Wednesday as they travel to in-state rival Notre Dame for a 7 p.m. match. The team is back at Armstrong Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 21 as it faces Ohio State in a game that will be broadcast live on the Big Ten Network. Match time is 3 p.m., immediately following the IU women's match against Oakland.
