BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana University senior swimmers Ben Hesen and Todd Patrick wrapped up their three-meet stay at the Grand Prix Italy on Sunday in Travagliato with three top-eight finishes.
Hesen got things started in the 50-meter backstroke where he qualified second overall with a time of 25.37 and went on to claim a second-place finish in the finals (25.10). Patrick was the fifth-fastest qualifier in the 50-meter butterfly (24.94) and posted a sixth-place finish in the finals with a time of 24.68.
Swimming the 100-meter individual medley, Hesen was third in qualifying with a time of 56.66 and placed third overall with a finals swim of 57.37. Patrick also competed in the 100-meter butterfly where he finished 12th in qualifying with a time of 55.40.
The Hoosiers are back in action this Friday as they travel to Kentucky for a dual meet with the Wildcats. The meet is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
