BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Freshman Josh MacTaggart suffered the first defeat of his collegiate career, ending a remarkable run in the Wilson/ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championship that included a win over a nationally-ranked player. MacTaggart lost to Ryan Lipman of Vanderbilt, who went on to advance to the tournament final, which will be played on Monday at the IU Tennis Center.
MacTaggart fell by a score of 6-3, 6-2 in the quarterfinal matchup. He had won three matches in the tournament, the best of which coming in three sets over #63 Bryant Salcedo of Vanderbilt.
While the Hoosiers are finished at the regional, the finals in singles action and semifinals and finals in doubles action will take place at the IU Tennis Center on Monday, October 26. Play opens at 9 a.m. ET on Monday. For complete coverage of all things IU tennis, stay tuned to IUHoosiers.com.
