A 10-time All-American and two-time NCAA Champion for the Hoosiers, Aarik Wilson enters his first season as a volunteer assistant coach at Indiana.
In 2006, Wilson finished as runner-up at the USA Indoor Championships in the triple jump with a mark of 16.60m (54-5.5) and placed third in the same event at the USA Outdoor Championships with a mark of 16.91m (55-5.75).
Wilson capped off his senior year at Indiana with two NCAA indoor titles after sweeping both the long jump and triple jump at the NCAA Championships. Wilson, the 2005 Great Lakes/Mideast Regional Athlete of the Year and Big Ten Athlete of the Year, holds three school records (indoor long jump- 8.17m/26-9.75), (indoor triple jump-16.99m/55-3), (outdoor triple jump (16.97m/55-8.25).
The Fallon, Nev., product is also a four-time Big Ten Outdoor Champion in the triple jump and was named the 2002 Big Ten Outdoor Freshman of the Year. He qualified to compete at the 2004 Olympic Trials in Sacramento, Calif., where he finished 14th overall, and won the NACAC-TELUS U-23 Championships in the triple jump in the summer of 2004.
