BLOOMINGTON, Ind.-- - Seniors Jenny DeMuth and Cyndi Valentin netted 12 and 10 points, respectively, to lead the IU women's basketball team to its first win of the season. IU opened up with an early 14-0 lead with DeMuth and Valentin leading the charge and the Hoosiers never looked back. The Penguins began to show signs of life when they went on a 10-0 run to bring the score to 26-16 with 2:17 left in the first stanza, but it was as close as they would get the rest of the way. Indiana entered the locker room with the 30-17 advantage.
