TUCSON, Ariz. - Led by solid scores from top to bottom in the lineup, the Indiana University women's golf team is currently tied for first heading into the final round of the Mountain View Collegiate at the Saddlebrook Golf Club in Tucson, Ariz.

The Hoosiers finished the day with a two-round total of 589 (294-295), putting them in a tie with Oklahoma. The teams will play one final round tomorrow.

"I thought we came out and played pretty well today," said head coach Clint Wallman. "We didn't do anything spectacular, but the ladies had plenty of opportunities for birdies. It was a long day with the hot weather, and it is the first 36-hole day we've had in awhile. We are hitting the ball well and there is no reason we can't come out and post a lower score tomorrow."

The Hoosiers were tied with Louisville for fifth after the first round but moved up as the day went on.

Laura Nochta and Lauren Harling are tied for the team lead with identical two-round scores of 143 (-1), putting them in a tie for second overall. Nochta was tied for third after round one at -2, posting a 34 on the front nine before coming in at 36 for a round of 70. She posted a 73 in the second round.

"It was good to see Laura come out and post a solid round over the first 18," Wallman said.

Harling was one-over with a 73 over the first 18 holes, putting her in a tie for 16th. She moved up to second with a solid second round that saw her go 2-under (70) to close out the day.

"Lauren continues to play well for us," Wallman said.
