ATHENS, Ga. - - Posting a third-round score of 311, the Indiana women's golf team concluded the NCAA East Regional in 18th with a total score of 933 (309-313-311). Florida finished first at +19 (883). The Gators will be joined at the NCAA Championships by Duke (884), Georgia (889), Auburn (894), Virginia (898), South Carolina (899), Wake Forest (899) and Furman (900).

"The day really belonged to our two seniors, Lauren Harling and Elaine Harris," said head coach Clint Wallman. "We got off to a pretty good start but just couldn't get the putts to go. Once we made the turn we knew it was going to be a hard task to make it to the final eight. The end of the day comes with mixed feelings. We are excited about the direction the program is going, but we are sad to see our seniors leave."

For the second-straight day, sophomore Laura Nochta was the top IU finisher with a 4-over 76 and was tops overall in a tie for 55th. Nochta was even (35) on the front nine, canceling out a bogey on three with a birdie on the par-5 seventh hole. Nochta's third cup landed less than a foot from the pin, where she easily tapped in for birdie. Another birdie at 16 put her at -1, but she could not hang on with a bogey on 14 and a triple bogey on the par-3 16th hole. The day ended with a put for pat on 18.

Anita Gahir's 77 (+5) gave her a tournament score of 233, finishing tied for 61st. Gahir's lone birdie on the front nine came on the par-5 seventh hole where she dropped her third shot just inches from the pin to set up an easy putt. She was one under over the final three holes with pars on eight and nine. After a bogey on the 10th hole. Gahir shored up her game with six-straight pars before another bogey on 17. The par-5 18th hole resulted in another par for the sophomore.

It was also the final round in an IU uniform for Elaine Harris who came in with an 81 and finished tied for 76th (236). Harris shot a 40 (+5) on the front nine, including back-to-back bogeys on holes eight and nine. A bogey on 10 and a double on 11 added three more strokes to her total, but her career came to an end with a birdie on 18.

Sophomore Kellye Belcher carded her best round of the tournament with a 78 (+6), finishing tied for 78th with a score of 236. Belcher was solid at +2 before a double bogey on nine gave her a 39 as she made the turn. She started out steady with pars on the first three holes before back-to-back bogeys on four and five. Except for a slip-up on 12 where she double bogeyed, Belcher took command of her game with nine pars to shoot a 2-over 39 on the back nine.

Senior Lauren Harling closed out her Indiana career with an 8-over 80, placing tied for 80th (238). Harling struggled with her game over the first nine holes, posting a 7-over 42 with pars on holes two and seven. She started out the back stretch on a positive note with her lone birdie of the day on hole 10. She continued to make smart decisions with pars on the next four holes before being derailed by back-to-back bogeys on 15 and 16.
