Indiana opened play at the Louisville Slugger Desert Classic on Friday against Utah with a 7-2 loss to the Utes. Senior catcher Cassie Gogreve drove in both runs for the Hoosiers with a bases loaded single in the fourth inning.

Senior catcher had four RBI and Amanda Wagner collected three hits to lead Indiana (2-2) to the 9-1 victory against Santa Clara (1-3) in five innings on Saturday at the Hotel Encanto Invitational on the campus of New Mexico State University.

It was the first inning that proved to be the undoing for Indiana (1-2) as they allowed the Saint Mary's College Gaels to score seven times en route to a 8-3 loss for the Hoosiers. The game was played on the campus of New Mexico State University as part of the Hotel Encanto Invitational.

Indiana (1-1) trailed just 3-0 entering the fifth inning against New Mexico State thanks to good team defense and a solid pitching effort by sophomore Meaghan Murphy. But the Aggies (1-0) broke things open with a pair of runs in the fifth inning and then five more in the sixth to invoke the eight-run rule, 10-2.
