FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.- The Hoosiers competed day two of competition in the Tyson Invitational on Saturday. The event took place at the Randal Tyson Track Center on the Arkansas campus.
The women were led by juniors Molly Beckwith and Wendi Robinson, who both recorded third place finishes. On Friday, the Hoosiers also competed well, recording two provisional marks, a top-five finish and a season best.
Beckwith finished 3rd in the 800m run, recording a time of 2:11.38. She was less than a second behind the event winner, and only .53 seconds slower than her career best, 2:10.85.
Robinson ran the 3,000m run for the second time on the season. In January, Robinson provisionally qualified in the event at the Big Ten/SEC Challenge in Bloomington. Robinson finished third with a time of 9:34.99, just under a second slower than the provisional mark of 9:34.00.
The Hoosiers will return to action in two weeks on March 1-2 in the Big Ten Championships in Minneapolis, Minn.
