NORTHRIDGE, Calif. -
The 16th ranked Indiana women's water polo team suffered a heartbreaking 11-10 defeat at the hands of No. 14 Cal State Northridge in sudden victory overtime on Tuesday in California.
The teams were tied, 6-6, through three periods and both offense's came out in the fourth and put up three goals to send it to overtime. In the first overtime, bot teams scored a goal to send it to another overtime session before the Matadors came out on top in sudden victory.
Freshman Lauren Wyckoff was the offensive star for the Hoosiers (9-8) with four goals in the game. Nicole Redder scored two goals of her own while Maggie Hannon, Kelsey Campbell, Brooke Zimmerman and Brittany Estrada each scored one goal apiece.
Senior goalkeeper Jackie Pyrz made eight saves in goal for the Hoosiers.
