BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - On senior night at the Councilman Billingsley Aquatic Center the Indiana women's water polo team erupted to tie its season-high in goals scored in a 16-7 drubbing of the Wagner Seahawks as part of the Fluid Five tournament hosted by Indiana.

The three seniors on the team, Brittany Estrada, Jackie Pyrz and Brooke Zimmerman, were each honored prior to the start of the game for their dedication to the IU water polo program. But once the game started it was the freshman that made their presence felt in a big way by scoring 10 of the 16 Indiana goals.

Indiana (11-12, 0-1 CWPA Western) took control of the game in the first minute when Zimmerman took an outlet pass and fed Wyckoff in front of the goal, who then lobbed it over the Wagner goalkeeper's head. Campbell followed with her first goal of the game before Wagner got on the board with their first goal. Butler then fired one past the keeper with just 15 seconds left in the quarter to push the Hoosier lead back to two goals at 3-1.

The Seahawks (10-9) got the first goal of the second period, only to see Indiana score five goals of their own in the period to double-up Wagner going to halftime, 8-4. Zimmerman got one to trickle past the goal line for the first IU goal of the period and Hannon followed with the first of her three goals in the game. Nicole Redder made a beautiful spin move in front of the goal to shake free from the defender and then easily found the back of the goal for her only tally of in the game. Campbell and Wyckoff each added their second goals of the game in to close out the scoring in the first half.

The third period was about defense as Indiana kept Wagner off the board and added three more goals thanks to Hannon, Redder and Dunn to put the Hoosiers out front 11-4 with just eight minutes left.

And despite the big lead, Indiana did not let up in the final stanza, adding five more goals. Hannon opened the quarter with her third goal of the game by taking a pass in front of the goal and putting one past the keeper on the short side. Zimmerman's second goal of the game was followed by a successful Wagner penalty shot by Billy Hoelck, her fifth goal of the game. Sands broke into the IU scoring column midway through the fourth and was followed by a pair of goals from Moore to close out the scoring for Indiana.

Wagner was given a penalty shot as time expired and Natalie Pyrz, a freshman at Wagner, stepped up to take it against her sister, senior IU goalkeeper, Jackie. The younger Pyrz was able to find the top left corner of the goal to get to the final of 16-7.

The Hoosiers will continue play in the Fluid Five on Sunday against Santa Clara at 1 p.m.
